Villa Het Gooi

Villa Het Gooi is designed in dialogue with the movement of the sun. Its privacy is created naturally from the surrounding dune landscape, whose morphology inspired the design. Inspired by Dudok’s early 20th-century architecture, which was influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright’s vision of the Prairie House, the villa takes shape as a horizontally oriented residence on two levels. It is partially submerged, blending into the landscape while elevating its stealthy roof as a symbol of shelter and elegance. Raw timber details contrast the sharpness of the roofline, creating tension between barefoot luxury and 21st-century design.
