Marc Koehler Associates was honoured to host the second year of the MRA Houtbouw Convenant Strategic Partner Lunch at our project Poppies by MMaMa Pioneers in Amsterdam Noord.

The Metropolitan Region Amsterdam (MRA) Houtbouw Convenant is a collaboration between municipalities, developers and housing cooperatives working to accelerate timber innovation in the built environment, committed to building 20% of all new construction in timber. This annual gathering is a key moment to reflect on progress, share knowledge and strengthen partnerships driving timber innovation in the region. It was energising to welcome partners on site and contribute to the ongoing dialogue about biobased, modular, and sustainable building.

The on-site backdrop of the final construction stages of Poppies by MaMa Pioneers, offered a tangible backdrop to discuss the potential of timber construction at scale. We discussed key lessons from our Superwood by Superlofts system, including the efficiency of both prefabricated 3D and 2D CLT modules, open façade possibilities, and the importance of early collaboration.
