
Marc Koehler Associates wins New European Bauhaus Prize for Republica in Amsterdam Noord
On 30.09.25 the New European Bauhaus Prizes were awarded at the European Parliament by Dan Jørgensen, EU Commissioner for Energy & Housing.
MKA was shortlisted in 3 categories for its sustainable design and community approach of Republica, a mixed use urban village in Buiksloterham, offering affordable rental, market housing & DIY Superlofts, shortstay studios, work-, leisure and community spaces such as a roof pool and yoga school, a mobility hub, recycling and energy cooperative.
The New European Bauhaus (NEB) promotes exemplary projects that integrate Sustainability, Inclusivity, and Beauty into design visions for a hopeful future of the built environment. There were 22 prize winners selected from 44 finalist projects, chosen from over 700 submissions.
