Three Projects Shortlisted for WAF 2026!
We are delighted to share that three Marc Koehler Associates projects have been shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival Awards 2026, one of the world’s leading international architecture awards.
The selected projects reflect our commitment to creating architecture that is adaptable, sustainable and rooted in collaboration—exploring new ways of living, building and shaping cities.
The shortlisted projects are:
Poppies – developed with MaMa Pioneers and featuring the Superwood timber building system by Superlofts. The project demonstrates how industrialized modular timber construction can provide a scalable response to the housing crisis while significantly reducing environmental impact.
SPOT– designed together with Mei architects and planners transforms Amsterdam’s mono-functional office district into a vibrant, mixed-use urban neighbourhood. Integrating housing, public space and sustainable mobility within a single urban block, the project supports the area’s transition towards a more connected and inclusive city.
Superlofts Peak Noorderplassen –demonstrates an alternative approach to housing, where future residents actively shape both their homes and their community. Flexible living spaces are complemented by shared facilities and collectively owned spaces that encourage everyday interaction.
Being shortlisted for WAF is a recognition of the collective efforts of our clients, collaborators and project teams. We are grateful to everyone involved in bringing these projects to life and look forward to presenting them at the World Architecture Festival 2026 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Congratulations to all our partners, and thank you for being part of this journey!
